Meghan Markle loves the saying that goes, “The silence is part of the song.”
Well, according to the latest reports from Page Six, Meghan received nothing but silence when she reached out to the queen of country music, herself, Dolly Parton.
The royal and her team reached out to the legendary actress, songwriter, and philanthropist with an invitation to appear in the second season of the Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
It would have been a dream for the former TV star to have Dolly, most likely in a body-hugging dress, with a big blonde hairdo in her faux Montecito kitchen, cooking or baking something good and authentically southern for her viewers.
Dolly Parton is an eternal legend who brings raw humor and a good old time to all her appearances. The famous entrepreneur also brings in ratings.
Dolly not only declined the collaboration but is also livid that Meghan is attempting to capitalize on her hard-earned fame for her project.
Celebrity commentator Kinsey Schofield stated: “Her team was livid. Because no, they don’t want to risk Dolly’s reputation Q score [and] her popularity by associating with Meghan Markle.”
The podcast host elaborated on Dolly’s mistrust of Prince Harry‘s wife by saying: “Her team feels like Meghan was trying to take advantage of her popularity.”
It’s not just Dolly who has turned down Meghan’s invitations. She also tried to persuade Taylor Swift to appear on her Spotify Archetypes series, but Swift declined. Despite these setbacks, Meghan believes that if she persists, she will get lucky and land a collaboration with a famous singer.
Harry and Meghan have attended all of Beyoncé‘s recent concerts; it remains to be seen whether Queen B will show up for her.
